Storm Botnet Installs Malware in The Pretext of Sharing Love

A network of compromised computers under cyber criminals' control is producing spam mails carrying a malware-laden file called iloveyou.exe, said researchers at MessageLabs, a provider of services for computer security, on May 19, 2008.

According to the researchers, the key locations from where the bulk e-mails are originating are the US, UK, Russia and the Netherlands. The messages show subject tiles as, "If Loving You," "With All My Love," "We Belong Together," "Out Love is Free," and "With Love." The tactic used in these e-mails is similar to the earlier campaigns that the Storm botnet ran around Valentine's Day.
