Sunbelt Announces Ten Top Malware Threats for October 2008Software security company Sunbelt Software on November 6, 2008 disclosed the top ten-malware threats prevalent during October 2008, as reported by PRWeb on November 6, 2008. Sunbelt's report states that a new malware that made its first appearance on the list of top ten security threats was the INF.Autorun (v) program. According to the security investigators and analysts at Sunbelt, the INF.Autorun (v) is a generic family of malwares that use Autorun.inf files to launch Trojans, Trojan downloaders and backdoors automatically when the user accesses certain files/folders.
