Vietnam – Nearly 4,000 New Computer Viruses Detected in October 2008According to a Vietnam based networks security agency, the BKIS Network Security Center, as many as 3,910 new kinds of PC viruses were detected in Vietnam in October 2008, including 3,905 of global origin and 5 of national origin. Further, the malicious programs attacked over 6.2 Million computer systems across the country during the month, of which the most prevalent one was X97M.XFSic, which infected more than 73,000 systems. The BKIS study also indicates that during October 2008, 50 Websites of major Vietnamese agencies and companies were hacked. Out of them, 24 sites were targeted by Vietnamese hackers and 26 by foreign hackers.
