Hacker Imprisoned for Hacking Online Accounts of Women

Softpedia.com reported on 18th March, 2014 stating that 20 year old Jared James Abrahamas of Temecula, California (US) who hacked PCs of several females including that of present Miss Teen US Cassidy Wolf, has been punished to 18 months in a federal prison on 21st November, 2013 after he pleaded guilty of hacking one count of computer and three counts of extortion.

The US Attorney's Office, Central District, California announced that Abrahams hacked as many as 150 online accounts to get details and content that could be used to blackmail his victims.

The man used malware to sever email and social media accounts of his unfortunate victims to compromise their computers. Actually, Abrahams became an expert in using remote administration tools (RATs) which is a malware employed for spying victims.

Abrahams took control of his victim's computers and remotely turn on their webcams to take their intimate pictures and used the images to extort money women.

FBI termed it as "sextortion case" that gained global prominence initially when Cassidy Wolf, who was a school-mate of Abrahams, was found as one of his victims.

Abrahams reportedly threatened Wolf by warning her that her dream of becoming a model would be changed to becoming a porn-star and posted a naked photo when she did not respond to his threats.

Thedailybeast.com reported on 18th March, 2014 quoting Vibhav Mittal, Assistant U.S. Attorney, as saying "most distressing details of this incident involve two teenage victims from Canada and Ireland who conceded to Skype sessions with Abrahams in which they stripped for him as the recording of their video-chat sessions went on."

As expected, Abrahams was a regular user of hackforums.net which features a large RAT forum that was profiled during early 2013. Abrahams, on went by the online handle of cutefuzzypuppy asked for assistance to distribute software like DarkComet to victims because he "suck(ed) at social engineering" and needed to find better ways to distribute his spyware.

Apparently, when Abrahams will be released from jail after one and half years, he will be monitored for 3 years and computer usage of his will also be checked by a probation officer.
