Government Along with JNPT Doing for Addressing Destruction from Malware Assault
The biggest container port in India namely JNPT, which APM (AP Moller-Maersk) operates along with the global company's twin sites within the country got targeted with a ransomware assault that greatly interrupted services.
Within one statement by the country's shipping ministry on June 28, 2017, APM Maersk the privately functioning terminal operator informed that the interruption in its services was the result of one global service disruption that the company faced from one cyber attack.
While APM Maersk has adopted measures for addressing the problem, it's thought that the company could do a collective of container cargo both outbound and inbound, it stated. Economictimes.indiatimes.com posted this, June 28, 2017.
According to JNPT, the CFS Nhava Sheva, ICD Dadri and Pipavav terminal, all three that the APM conglomerate manages too have felt the brunt of the cyber assault.
As per the press release of JNPT, an important meeting was arranged, June 28, among Gulshan Rai, Coordinator of National Cyber Security; JNPT Chairman; Chief Commissioner Customs and Excise; as well as Inspector General-Cyber Maharashtra. Mr. Rai, on hearing of the attack, hastily reached the city. As the congestion was likely to create hazards during the management of traffic, JNPT quickly arranged for opening up the parking space built to station the cargo coming and going for the terminal. In addition to this, authorities have advised CFS for retaining the cargo within its premises.
One senior officer of the Ministry of Shipping told Press Trust of India that the ministry was doing everything possible for freeing traffic congestion being caused due to the assault.
Furthermore, JNPT in coordination with CIDCO a regional office is seeking to arrange for more parking spaces. Teams of uniformed men controlling traffic have been vigorously put to service for tackling possible road congestion.
The situation is getting close monitoring by the government that stated additional measures would be adopted for handling the traffic condition after reviewing it over the immediate days. Mr. Rai is on his way to JNPT for assisting in firefighting exercises.
Posting one message to Facebook, Maersk Line substantiated that there has been an effect on APM Terminals at several ports. » SPAMfighter News - 6/30/2017 |
