Malware Masked in PDFs Distributing via Olympic E-mailsMessageLabs, a online security company, has discovered that targeted malware are being distributed via official-looking IOC (International Olympic Committee) e-mails, sent to national sporting agencies and various athlete representatives. Further, the new malware targeted at least nine domains with 57 e-mails that contained media information and press releases in connection with the IOC. MessageLabs reported that the malware was masked in an Adobe Acrobat PDF file attachment that had an embedded JavaScript to install a harmful executable program onto a user's computer.
