Over 10 Million Zombies Found Active in April-June 2008Panda Security, a major supplier of IT solutions, along with CommTouch has declared the results of their report on the existing scenario of spam. The report indicated that during the second quarter of 2008 (from April to June 2008), over 10 Million compromised or 'zombie' PCs were sending e-mails laced with malware as well as spam daily. As described, zombies PCs are bot-infected systems that cyber criminals remotely control. According to the report, the large group of 'zombies' remains primarily accountable to the massive volume of spam that individual users and organizations suffer from.
