Hacking Attempts against Retail Sites Shooting UpAs per the security firm SecureWorks, a significant 161% increase has been noticed in the hacking strikes during July-November 2008 over January-June 2008. The firm revealed that after a considerable rise in the network-scanning investigation attacks in October 2008, hackers have increased their attempts to authenticate themselves to the online retailers by fake means. Among all the existing hacking techniques, infusion of malevolent code is the most extensively used one. Hackers were reported to have started thousands of "SQL injection" attacks, aimed to infuse the malevolent code into a targeted PC.
